Mahmoud Chahrour: A Pioneer in Franchise Development in the Middle East and Canada

Newsdesk - September 4, 2024

Mahmoud Chahrour, CFE, President of ME Franchising Inc., has been a stalwart in the franchise industry for over three decades, making a significant impact both in Canada and internationally.

Mahmoud’s journey in the franchise world began in January 1992 when he, along with his brother, embarked on an entrepreneurial venture as a Subway franchisee in Hull, Quebec, Canada. Between 1992 and 1997, they successfully developed, owned, and operated five Subway restaurants across Hull and Montreal, laying a strong foundation in the franchising sector.

In 1997, Mahmoud took his expertise to a global stage by joining Subway International as a Regional Director. In this role, he was instrumental in launching and developing the Subway brand across 22 countries and territories, including parts of Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia, and Africa. His leadership and strategic vision were crucial in establishing Subway as a globally recognized brand in these diverse markets.

Returning to Canada in 2008, Mahmoud continued to expand his influence in the franchising sector by developing more Subway restaurants in key locations throughout the Montreal area. His ability to identify prime locations and implement effective operational strategies contributed to the brand’s continued success in the region.

Since 2013, Mahmoud has dedicated his efforts to helping businesses in both the Middle East and Canada transform into successful franchises. As a Certified Franchise Executive (CFE), he aligns his work with the ethical standards set by the International Franchise Association (IFA), the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA), and the Conseil Québécois de la Franchise (CQF). His commitment to these principles ensures that the businesses he supports operate with integrity and excellence.

Mahmoud currently leads ME Franchising Inc., a company that offers comprehensive turnkey franchise solutions for both franchisors and franchisees. As a member of the CFA and CQF, ME Franchising Inc. provides expert advice and guidance to businesses looking to enter the franchise market, as well as established franchisors seeking to enhance their operations and expand their reach.

The services offered by ME Franchising Inc. cover the entire spectrum of franchise development, from initial consultation and strategic planning to the full implementation of a business format franchise. Mahmoud and his team of experienced franchise consultants work closely with clients to identify the most practical and profitable approaches to franchising, helping them avoid costly mistakes and achieve sustainable growth.

Mahmoud Chahrour’s contributions to the franchise industry, both in Canada and internationally, have solidified his reputation as a leader and innovator. His work continues to empower businesses to grow and succeed in the competitive world of franchising, making him a pivotal figure in the industry’s ongoing development.
