Dubai: Arab Franchise Awards which recognized the excellence in franchise industry of the Arab world announced the winners of 2022. Franchise industry leaders filled the Pullman Creek Ballroom to celebrate 2022’s top franchise entrepreneurs, leaders and their legacy. The ceremony began with a keynote speech by Dr. Eesa Mohammed Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai – about the latest insights into the importance of homegrown franchise brands and how these trends can influence the local economy and help them expand globally.
“I am exceedingly grateful for allowing me to collect this award on behalf of my Chaiiwala Ltd. The most profound recognition goes to the team who has supported the company during its phenomenal success in recent years”. Simon said after receiving the award.
Simon Cooper, International Business Director of Chaiiwala of London said: “This event has taken us closer to our goal of making us a global brand by expanding into Arab countries through franchising, and positioning ourselves as the world’s best tea brand.”
Popularly known as the Starbucks of India, Chaiiwala was founded in 1927 on the streets of New Delhi. Chaiiwala has nearly 100 years of history and tradition. No doubt, Chaiiwala owes its humble beginnings to founder members’ forefathers who had one small tea stall but a great vision. They were the original pioneers of the recipes you see in the store today, with many people coming from afar just for a sip of their famous Karak Chai. The trademark chai has now made the brand famous throughout the world. This spirit was revived in 2016 by the family of the founders who still draw upon their history to ensure the recipes retain the original essence while inspiring new, authentic menu creations.
Headquartered in London and operating almost 100 outlets across 3 continents, Chaiiwala has become one of the world’s fastest-growing independent businesses with plans to grow to 500 stores across the world in the next decade.
